About Us

Heidi learned to sew at age 5 on a Singer 500A (the Rocketeer). She worked on that machine for 13 years, when she inherited her great-grandmothers Featherweight. Her mother and Mr. Cubbage sparked a life-long love of old sewing machines. Mr. Cubbage would arrive at the house every 6 months or sew to clean and service her mother’s machine on the kitchen table. Heidi was fascinated by the cleaning process and Mr. Cubbage was happy to show her and her mother how to keep that old Rocketeer running like new. That dedication to service and willingness to share knowledge have inspired Heidi throughout her sewing career.

More than 30 years later, Heidi’s love for sewing and all things vintage has blossomed into servicing these wonderful old machines for others. As an avid sewist herself, Heidi understands that having your machine in the repair shop for weeks at a time can be frustrating. There are many things you can do yourself to keep your machine running smoothly, but sometimes this can seem overwhelming and scary. This is why she offers in-home service appointments. Working on the machine with the client present allows her to answer any questions and demystify machine maintenance.
